York Haematology Support Group
York Haematology Support Group was set up in 2011 by Carol Miller, a blood cancer survivor living in York. It offers the opportunity for patients, family members and friends affected by blood cancer or related disorders to get together in an informal setting, to chat about their experiences and support one another. It is an active group and around 20-30 people come to each meeting. A guest speaker usually attends too, and this may be a researcher, a haematology doctor or nurse, or someone involved in broader support services.
In 2025, Carol stepped down from managing the group and YHHN staff now run the meetings. If you would like to attend and want more information, please contact Debra Howell: Email: enquiries@yhhn.org; Tel: 01904 321895 or 0800 3280655.
The group meets at 7:00pm on the first Thursday of every month, at Huntington Working Men's Club, 1 North Moor Road, Huntington, York, YO32 9QS.
